The Gengassiden This construction manual was prepared by Harry LaFontaine for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, assisted by F.P. Zimmerman at the Oak Ridge national Laboratory. The justification for writing this report was that in the event of a war or natural emergency, when liquid fuel supplies were interrupted, individuals could build gasifiers to run engines for transport and power. The manual was originally distributed by FEMA. Download a pdf scan of the original FEMA Manual

UNDERSTANDING WOOD WASTES AS FUEL By Jon Vogler: This paper describes a number of uses of wood wastes as fuel, which is how the greatest proportion of wood wastes are used. Non-fuel uses of wood wastes, for example in building materials, industry, and agriculture, are described in another paper, "Understanding the Non-fuel Uses of Wood Wastes." The issue is acute, because the poor throughout the world, both urban and rural, continue to consume fuelwood and charcoal faster than it can be renewed. Meanwhile, an insatiable demand for paper made from wood pulp, wooden building components, furniture, and other goods also contributes to deforestation. Economical use of wood wastes instead of new wood helps to preserve forests and woodland in developed countries and is becoming essential to survival of the poor in many parts of the Third World, as fuel becomes more scarce.

Cryogenic Heat Engine as a Zero Emission Vehicle Picture this: The more cars are driven, the cleaner the air becomes. Sound crazy? It's possible by using a C-H ("cryogenic heat") engine to power cars. A C-H engine is a radically new energy concept being investigated by Drs. Carlos A. Ordonez, Mitty C. Plummer, and Richard F. Reidy at the University of North Texas with support from the Texas Advanced Technology Program. The most intriguing aspect of the concept is that the fuel used by a C-H engine to power a vehicle can be either liquefied air or liquid nitrogen. Liquefied air is produced by taking air from the atmosphere and cooling and compressing it. Liquid nitrogen is similarly produced using nitrogen gas. Because air consists of 78% nitrogen gas, liquefied air and liquid nitrogen have similar properties. In order to run a C-H engine using liquefied air, liquefied air is heated and expanded in much the same way that water is heated and expanded when used to run a steam engine. However, an important difference is that pollution-emitting combustion is not necessary for the heating process. Instead, heat already existing in the atmosphere is used. As a result, the exhaust consists solely of pure, clean, breathable air. In order to prove that the concept is possible, an automobile has been converted for operation using a C-H engine. In the next phase of the planned research effort, a C-H engine electric power system will be developed and used to power an electric vehicle. The electric vehicle will be designed to travel 130 miles on a single tank of fuel. Assuming that solar energy is used to produce the fuel, the cost of fuel for operating the electric vehicle can potentially reach less than 10 cents per mile. As an environmental benefit, liquefied air and liquid nitrogen production systems remove undesirable airborne pollutants from the air. As a result, the more that cars powered by C-H engines are driven, the cleaner the air becomes.

THE GAS PRODUCER - SCIENCE AND CONSTRUCTION: The gas producer should operate on any solid fuel. We have even tried using old tyre treads and dry sugar cane. We are told that cattle dung will work. We have used charcoal but not used coal. No doubt it would provide more KM's per tonne than wood. Just as you would choose the best burning wood for your fireplace or slow combustion heater, you naturally choose the best available wood for the firebox. A fill of pine offcuts would only make 40% of the KM as a fill of yellow box or redgum. We reckoned on about 2,000 km per tonne of wood (2km/kg). This should be improved by the addition of steam to an expected 2,500-3,000 km per tonne. The amount of water used is about the same as the gallonage of petrol that would be consumed.

Joe Cell Replication Project In the first part of April, 2006, Bill Williams told a discussion list that he successfully tested a device known as the Joe Cell. It allegedly feeds off Orgone energy and uses electrically charged water as the "gate" or medium through which the aetheral energy is drawn from the surroundings and transferred to the automobile engine. He was in process of disclosing how he accomplished this when confronted on April 11 by two unidentified individuals who told him to cease all of his alternative energy work or there would be dire consequences. Williams complied, but others involved are doing all they can to make sure the information is republished and replicated widely.

How to Make and Run a Joe Cell Interview of Peter Stevens by Adrian Mutimer, to further pin down the process of how to build, prime/charge, and then run a car on a Joe cell.

The Experimenters' Guide to the Joe Cell by Alex Schiffer: My intention ( to the best of my ability ) is to remove some of the mystery, secrets, guesswork and plain misinformation that surrounds the construction of the " cell ". The aim is to help the constructor make a cell in a laid out, step by step, method that I employ to make my own cells. My knowledge comes from making the cells. As I have built many working cells, this experience has given me the knowledge, not by guesswork or reading someone's book or listening to second or third hand " expert " opinions. I now pass this information on to you. and it will always stay as my opinion and information until you build your own cell. Only then will you know how to make a cell, and not before!

Joe Cell > Joe Cell Stretches the Believability Envelope with Working Replications - Explanation of the highly unusual technology and some of the astonishing claims surrounding it. This fuelless technology could make gasoline and diesel obsolete, while not requiring a change of the engine infrastructure now in existence. (PESN; April 16, 2006)

A-21 Fuel Page - Gunnerman Fuel Gunnerman claims to have devised a means to blend water with naphtha in order to power engines in a cleaner, cheaper, more efficient way.

01/31/99 - Gunnerman Patent The following is a copy of a patent which claims to reveal how to run an internal combustion engine on a mix of as much as 70% water and 30% combustible liquid fuel. The document also reports on the use of metal catalysts as well as the use of a surfactant to reduce the surface tension in both the water and the combustible fuel which would allow them to freely mix.

HIMAC Research - Gunnerman's Water Gasoline System It seems too good to be true, but rigorous tests under way in Nevada, California and Illinois show a breakthrough fuel that is more than half tap water could power the nation's vehicles, train s and gas-powered aircraft by century's end. The milky fuel was developed by Reno inventor Rudolf Gunnerman and is being pushed through the federal fuels-testing labyrinth by Gunnerman and diesel giant Caterpillar Inc. It has passed every test thrown at it.

The Salix Consortium The Salix Consortium is a joint project between Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. and the Willow Biomass for Bioenergy program at SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry in Syracuse, NY. The College's goal is to establish a solid scientific data base for the commercialization of short-rotation willow bioenergy crops. The Consortium is growing coppiced willow on Conservation Reserve Program lands in upstate New York that will be chipped and co-fired with coal in several coal-fired power plants. Co-firing with coal is a simple, cost-effective method to reduce the CO2, SOx, NOx and Mercury emissions associated with coal combustion. Check out the research. Maybe the same model could be applied in your community.

BROWN’S GAS FACTS Um, really a bit to... disorganized for me to follow. I have no patience for this type of presentation. But maybe you will get something out of it.

Inventions Related to Energy Crises? Any one of these systems would seem to make wonderful sense! None of then cause any pollution or even global warming in the tiniest! None of them require either fossil fuels or nuclear fuels, all of which have many environmental impacts as well as each being very rapidly being all used up. (Government and industry data shows that the US no longer has ANY operating Uranium mines (from the 40+ that used to operate, and that we already import over 92% of the Uranium used in power plants! US oil reserves would last us slightly over FOUR years if we had no imports, and US natural gas reserves would last us a little over eight years without imports!) So it was extremely surprising to discover that the US government and (large) US businesses have apparently ZERO interest in any such things EXCEPT if there are huge profits available for them! The reactions regarding each of these inventions (except the last, which is not yet operational) have been amazing!
