SSRsi believes in & supports the original U.S. Constitution & Bill of Rights. However, we also believe it is wise to keep track of what those who would pervert, subvert or destroy it are saying and doing. KNOW YOUR ENEMY! .

Found a good "Anti-Gun Crowd" link? Let Us Know!

Since we believe that (as history has repeatedly shown) an unarmed and defenseless Citizenry soon becomes a nation of fearful and abused slaves, the disarmament groups and laws restricting law abiding Citizens from keeping & bearing small-arms of a conventional and technically equivalent nature* pose a very real threat (although possibly unintentional) to the security of our nation, its people, and our way of life. Therefore we have included this section as a check on the progress of disarmament in the US and in the world as a whole.

ANTI Self-Defense & Firearm Organizations: Keep in touch with what they are telling people.

The Responsive Communitarian Platform These people are serious, seriously deluded, and should be monitored carefully. Some of the articles on their site include "The Case for Domestic Disarmament," "Domestic Disarmament: Draft Legislation," "No Right to Private Gun Ownership: A Legal Analysis," together with a list of signatories to the platform.

Gun Control Network Opens with the outlandish statement: "The job of this network is not to convince people that guns, especially handguns, are dangerous. Everyone knows that already. The vast majority want to see handguns prohibited completely and much tighter controls on all other weapons. Our job is to convince the law-makers that they must listen to the majority, and not be swayed by the selfish minority." and flows downhill from there

Center to Prevent Handgun Violence (CPHV)

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) CSGV is comprised of 45 national organizations working to reduce gun violence. Our coalition members include religious organizations, child welfare advocates, public health professionals, and social justice organizations. This diversity of member organizations allows us to reach a wide variety of grassroots constituencies who share our vision of non-violence. [a list of our member organizations] CSGV, and its sister organization, the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, focus on a four-pronged strategy to defeat the gun lobby: 1) A progressive legislative agenda to close illegal gun markets. 2) Building a stronger grassroots gun control movement. 3) Changing laws by changing our elected leaders. 4) Litigation.

Educational Fund to End Handgun Violence (EFEHV)

Violence Policy Center (VPC) The VPC approaches gun violence as a public health issue, advocating that firearms be subject to health and safety standards like those that apply to virtually all other consumer products.

Other National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies Organizations that have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

Anti-Gun Corporations/Corporate Heads listing includes the most prominent national corporations that have lent their corporate support to gun control initiatives or taken position supporting gun control.

Anti-Gun Publications and Media Outlets The following publications and media outlets have assisted in the attack on Second Amendment rights. The editorial policies of some of the media sources listed portray firearms in a negative manner in an attempt to generate public support for restrictions on firearms ownership. Others have refused some or all of NRA's advertisements.
