An "Equipped to Survive" Evaluation of Firestarters, Tinder, and Stoves The ability to start a fire is critical in most survival situations. Which Kukri do I recommend?   By Paul at Survival Primer.  You don't realize how much I enjoy letters.  This started out as an email, and turned into a web page.  This first version will be written "on the fly"  and edited, with pictures added, later.  See also: New File.  Basic Kukri Use and Safety, Sketches

Ron Hood Reviews: The Busse Battle Mistress. Punishing trials and in-depth article which originally ran in the 3/98 ASG.

The Wave: Doug Ritter & Equipped To Survive evaluate the latest (expensive) offering from the folks that brought you the Leatherman Pocket tool. Excellent review.

The Swiss Tool: Doug Ritter & Equipped To Survive evaluate the latest offering from Victorinox (Swiss Army Knife) as they enter the market in true competition against Leatherman. Very nice review.

Pocket Saws: Doug Ritter & Equipped To Survive evaluate a couple of "handy" pocket saws to add to your packing list. Great review
