Survival, Self Sufficiency and
Sustainable Living: (Australia) This site is for people who would like to
learn about the self sufficiency, sustainable living, wilderness survival, and
self sufficient living skills that people knew in ancient times — before we
became dependent on modern fossil-fuel-based technology. That includes myself,
i.e. I am learning this as I go, and writing it up on the site as I get around
to it.
Ron's Primitive Skills ~
Bushcraft, wilderness & urban survival, preparedness and primitive skills.
"A
teacher/practitioner of primitive skills and survival skills. Hiking, mineral
collecting, flint knapping, hunting, anything outdoors is my cuppa. My writings
have been published in national magazines and on several websites."
Hoods Woods has been offering the best survival information on the Internet since 1992 when Ron grabbed the Survival.com domain name. For Ron it wasn't just a name, it described both a lifestyle and what Ron has been teaching and studying since the 1960's. It took a lot of “dirt time” to bring you the material on this site and in
their EXCELLENT videos (see our review).
Ron & Kathy hope you'll enjoy both!

Native Planet's first project. It started with a three and half year expedition paddling 4000 miles from Mexico to Panama to document the remaining indigenous cultures . The aim was to use adventure travels to generate a strong reader base, and introduce cultural information to sensitize the general public on the beauty of indigenous culture and the importance of preserving them. One year before the end of this expedition, it evolved into the Native Planet.
